Those of y'all who are football fanatics probably gasped at that status, huh? ;)
TCU didn't play this weekend, but that doesn't mean I didn't find ways to fill my time (because goodness knows I don't start studying until Sunday haha).
Friday night, I checked one of the two dates off of my Fall Bucket List by making dinner for me and the boyfriend. I used my chicken spaghetti recipe, and made this yummy broccoli to go along with it.
I got the recipe from amateurgourmet.com, who claims it to be the best broccoli of your life. It was good, but definitely not the best I've ever eaten. Of course, my favorite broccoli involves lots of butter so maybe that's why I wasn't as big of a fan of this one (it used olive oil instead). Boyfriend wasn't too big of a fan...but he prefers his broccoli with cheese. And I was trying to be semi-healthy *Sigh*
I roasted it in the oven with some olive oil and minced garlic, then tossed it in a little more oil and parmesan cheese. Yummm.
And of course the chicken spaghetti in all of it's cheesy-ness. The stomach ache I got from eating all of the cheese was sooooo worth it!
The whole meal (complete with an ultra soft roll from Kroger - they have the best bakery section!)
I was trying to be cute and take photos...He just wanted to eat.
After dinner we headed over to Yo! for some frozen yogurt. They just "released" pumpkin pie fro yo for the Fall season and OH MY WORD it is so delicious. I don't know how they do it, but it actually tastes just like a pumpkin pie (in fro yo form).
I mixed mine with slivered almonds and graham cracker crumbs...so good.
I got really excited about holding both of our cups of fro yo...he had to drive. So I snuck a bite of his, of course. Stolen fro yo always tastes sweeter. ;) After our sugar fix, we went and saw a movie downtown then headed in for the night.
Last night we and his roommates went to see the Dallas Stars play against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Of course there was like no one there because everyone was at the Rangers game (goin' to the World Series yay!), but we still had a pretty good time. Plus the Stars won 4-2 so that puts them at 4-1 for the season so far...it's gonna be a good year for us. :)
Then today we went to church and spent the whole afternoon doing homework. Well I did homework. He played hockey on the Xbox. Jealous. I'm up for a couple more hours of homework, then up early in the morning for yet another crazy busy week.

{Have a wonderful week!}
I've tried that broccoli before and it is good, but definitely not as good as it is smothered in cheese :)
